Vancouver School Board (VSB, also School District #39) is a school district based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A board of nine trustees manage this district that serves the city of Vancouver and the University Endowment Lands.

The Vancouver school district is a large, urban and multicultural school district providing programs to 56,000 students in kindergarten to grade 12, over 3,000 adults in adult education programs and over 40,000 in continuing education.

Board of Education

The Vancouver Board of Education is comprised of nine trustees, elected every three years at the same time as the mayor and city council. They work to ensure the VSB is the best it can be for all Vancouver students. Their efforts benefit everyone in Vancouver– as our students are tomorrow's citizens and leaders.

You’re invited to attend public board meetings. Meeting agendas are posted prior to the meeting. We also post meeting minutes and reports on our web site, so you can keep up with information about the school system and policy development that directs what happens in the classroom on a daily basis.

The board's work is divided among five standing committees to facilitate comprehensive discussion of school district matters. Following each committee meeting, recommendations are forwarded to the full board for approval. All board and standing committee meetings are open to the public, except for in-camera sessions held in keeping with the School Act to discuss personnel or confidential financial or other matters.
